Day Seven: July 10, 2010

Howdy!

I've got lots of fun stuff for today. Ready?

This morning I took a bus to Canterbury. It was a two and a half hour drive(ish). I slept the whole ride there and back, so I can't be absolutely positive.

There, we visited the Cathedral of Canterbury that was originally built by St. Augustine. It is considered the first Anglican church ever built--and it's beautiful:

This is the gate you must get through (of course you have to pay to get in) before you actually see the church. Only its spires are visible from the street.

These are the monasteries that were built inside the church grounds.

After the one-hour guided tour of the cathedral, I wandered around the streets of Canterbury windowshopping and taking pictures:

I got swindled by a crazy gypsy woman (2 pounds she got out of me!!) for this silly little flower. I wore it in my hair for the rest of the day. She said it'd bring me luck.

Upon my arrival back at Canterbury I got some dinner, watched Germany win, then went out with some of the girls:

We went to Karaoke at a bar near campus.
We did not sing.

Then we went to a night club that looked like it is a skating rink during the day:

Now, it is 2:30ish in the morning and I'm going to bed. Tomorrow should be another exciting day!
